Birthdays are a way of measuring the passing of time. I celebrated another one yesterday and was amazed at all the people that took a moment from their busy schedules to text or post well wishes. It is humbling to think so many would take a their valuable time to recognize another day in my life.
I was a 38 year old assistant coach and worked everyday with a great man, and coach, Joe Moore. When we would get into certain conversations Joe would always say "I am 62 and know what it is like, you are still not sure." Well I now totally understand what Joe meant. One learns something everyday, I am past 62, and what I learned yesterday was to appreciate everyone that said hello, in some fashion.
Today I will say to all of you, thank you and enjoy every moment. There is good in each day, in each challenge and in each learning experience. Someday, you will look back and treasure all of those moments and all of the people that made them special.
